Private transport
Via Groningen - Winsum or Leeuwarden – Dokkum, travel to Lauwersoog where the ferry leaves for Schiermonnikoog. You can park your car in the Lauwersoog car park or nearby. The use of cars, motorbikes and scooters is very restricted on Schiermonnikoog. You can only take these vehicles to the island if you have an exemption from the Municipality of Schiermonnikoog (Tel. 0519 535050). Parking
You can also leave your car on the partly covered Lauwersoog car park (parking fee applies)
Free return bus from the harbour to the complex
As a guest of Landal Vitamaris, you will be transported by bus from the ferry to Landal Vitamaris free of charge upon presentation of your booking confirmation. The same bus will take you back to the port. This only concerns bus transport that runs on the regular ferry service. For the express service you have to arrange your own transport, there are no buses ready. You will receive tickets for the return journey when checking in. The transport is provided by Arriva transport company. Our general terms and conditions apply. PLEASE NOTE: as of 1 January 2023, the free bus return will no longer be available.
Public transport
Buses run from Groningen and Leeuwarden to Lauwersoog. Extra buses are deployed during anticipated busy times such as the festive season, holidays and events.
